The Brazilian star Extends Apology to Real Madrid Devotees

Vinicius Jr in action

The attacker has netted five finishes in ten Spanish league outings so far this term.

Los Merengues winger Vinicius Jr has apologised to the fanbase for his reaction when replaced in Sunday's heated Clasico clash win.

Vinicius was taken off in the 72nd min and showed his frustration by walking immediately to the dressing room.

The Brazilian later returned to the dugout and, after his team's 2-1 victory, attempted to approach Barça's youngster Yamal during contentious post-match scenes.

"Today I want to apologise to all the Real Madrid fans for my reaction when I was substituted in the Clasico," Vinicius posted on social media.

"Similarly to I have already done during the latest session, I would like to express regret anew to my team-mates, the club, and the club president.

"At times passion takes over me because I continuously aim to win and assist my team. My winning mentality comes from the love I feel for this institution and each thing it symbolizes."

The player moved to the Spanish capital from Brazil in the year 2018 for millions and has accumulated triple figures in numerous matches.

But his prospects in the La Liga is unclear with reports in the past few months stating that Los Blancos would contemplate letting the 25-year-old leave if they obtained a suitable offer.

When the winger was replaced on Sunday, broadcast footage from network the service captured him stating: "Again me! I'm exiting the club! It's wiser if I leave, I'm moving on."

In his latest statement on social media, Vinicius stated: "I vow to keep striving every second for the good of Real Madrid, as I have performed since the initial arrival."
