We hadn't thoroughly investigated this region in the Fallout lore extensively, stated the creative director. From our current map, if you head eastward, you begin entering the Capital Wasteland. That area is quite familiar. The Ohio territory hasn't really been touched on significantly. So, this installment being occurring before in the series history gives us multiple storytelling options. Taking Cues from Classic Titles
